Emma Kenney renewed hope for a Shameless revival.
“I miss working with them all. It’s always a sad and maybe nostalgic feeling when you wrap up a show you’ve done for years because it’s most likely never going to be the exact same casting crew,” Kenney, 25, said exclusively. My Weekly during its promotion Happy’s Place place for guests.
Kenney found herself reconsidering her position after pitching Roseanne spinoff Connerand added: “I do Conner (on ABC) gave me hope,” she noted. “In the sense that they literally brought back the entire crew from their original show from the ’80s and ’90s.”
Continuing bond between Shameless cast also Kenney excited about the possibilities. “I’ve been really lucky to work with such amazing people who I’ve developed really strong bonds with. I would love to be on set with any of them again,” she continued.
Kenny became a star performer Debbie Gallagher on the Showtime hit. The series, which ran for 11 seasons, focused on the Gallagher family as they dealt with poverty, affairs, crime and fraud while living on the South Side of Chicago. Shameless also played William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, Jeremy Allen White, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Cameron Monaghan, Noel Fisher and others.
After her role on ShamelessKenney was a constant presence on our screens as Harris Connor and now Gracie on Happy’s Place.
When considering the potential Shameless revival, Kenney named Howey, 47, as a star she wanted to reunite with on screen. (Howey played Kevin on Shameless after his breakthrough role as Van na Reba.)
“I would love to go back to filming with Steve. He’s one of my favorite people and the funniest person,” she said Our about Howey, who previously appeared on Happy’s Place as a guest star. “He’s definitely like an uncle to me. And I would like to do scenes with him and Reba (McEntire). I would honestly enjoy that.”
In fact, Howey offered Kenney some advice after being cast as McEntire’s fictional daughter.
“I was very excited to be a part of Happy’s Place and to work with Reba. I worked with Steve Howey for a long time, who also worked with Reba for a long time. When I went into it, I called him,” she revealed. “He had nothing but wonderful things to say about her, and he wasn’t wrong.
Kenney continued, “He has such a kind, generous, welcoming energy, which is very special when you join an already established cast to feel that way. So I was very lucky to have it.”
