X introduces a special vertical video feed for US users


X is trying to take advantage of social network withdrawal ByteDance apps like TikTok and Lemon8 from US app stores by running a dedicated vertical video feed.

The company is adding a video icon to the bottom bar of the app to allow users in the US to quickly access video content on the platform.

“An immersive new home for videos is available to users in the US today,” the company said a post on Sunday.

Already X users you can scroll between short videos by touching and scrolling up the video in the timeline. This new tab for videos is a dedicated section just for these videos. Moreover, this is not the first time in the company tried to create a new home for the videos.

The reverse of the application engineer previously looked at the media tab for videos, but this is the first time X has made an official announcement.

The social network has recently focused on video experiences. It was launched last year independent TV program showing videos from various organizations and creators.

As TikTok faces problems in the US, social networks are trying to capitalize on the uncertainty surrounding ByteDance’s US apps. A video editing program called Edit X competitor Bluesky launched to compete with ByteDance’s CapCut custom feed for vertical videos.
