Spirits were high on the streets of Washington, DC, Monday as Americans from across the country gathered in the nation’s capital to celebrate the President’s second inauguration. donald trump.
Fox News Digital spoke with many Trump supporters, who, despite freezing temperatures and a cold wind, expressed optimism and hope for the future of the United States under the new Trump administration.
“It’s a happy day,” said a group of South Georgia women, wearing huge star-studded hats and “Make America Great Again” scarves, standing next to the Capitol building.
“It’s amazing to have freedom again,” said one of the women named Tanya Garrett.
“Today is a day of freedom,” chimed in another woman named Angela Anderson.

Anderson said he believes the Trump administration will regain “America’s respect.”
“I think that’s one of the best things,” he said. “We are going to have the respect of other countries, we are going to prosper and we are going to bring security to our borders and the respect that there should be for the people.”
Most Trump supporters who spoke to Fox News Digital said the most important thing the new president could do is act quickly to undo the damage done during the Biden administration by securing the borderrestore the American economy and energy and project American strength against the nation’s enemies.
“I’m very, very excited,” said Rachel Quy, who traveled from Atlanta and was standing outside Union Station. “I’m Vietnamese-American and I don’t like communists and many of us who are anti-communists hope that Trump can stop that or at least weaken them so we can strengthen America.”

Outside, his supporters lined Pennsylvania Avenue, where Trump and his motorcade were expected to pass on their way to Capital One Stadium.
“We were doing much better under Trump, so we’re excited for another four years,” said Philip Swinson, owner of a Southern California construction company. Joining Swinson was his father and business partner, Brad Swinson.
“I’m almost 72 years old and I’m going to remember (Biden) as the worst president of my lifetime by far,” Brad said. “We’re big defenders of liberty, the Constitution, free enterprise, all the things that they seem to be fighting, at least the Democrats (and) the deep state, and I think people can see that.”

Some said they have noticed a shift in energy in their communities, with more and more people willing to openly agree with and support Trump and his agenda.
“Anything is better than what we’ve had for the last four years,” said Levi, a junior from wisconsin. “People who were my friends, who were liberals, staunch leftists, are now saying, ‘You know what? We have to change something here.'”
