In Parable of the farmer fire-ravaged California endures The future of climate change is now a reality. 1993 classic speculative fiction in American science fiction the author Octavia E. ButlerLiving in nearby Altadena, he predicted the catastrophic Los Angeles fires.
The Afrofuturist’s grave is in Altadena, which was hit hard during the recent wildfires that left thousands of Californians homeless. But his burial place survived: the AP Altadena shared a photo of the site, citing a statement on Mountain View Cemetery’s website, which said it sustained “minimal damage.” Butler died in 2006 and his headstone reads: “Everything you touch, you change. Everything you change changes you” – quote Parable of the farmer.
Altadena, which CBS News Described as a “Historically Black community,” it is now trying to rebuild. Octavia’s bookshelfnamed after the inspirational author, the Pasadena bookstore is a hub of activity that works tirelessly to support Butler’s beloved Los Angeles enclave.
