Fabric straps are comfortable and wick away moisture, but they retain moisture and are not very formal. Silicone straps are durable and water-resistant, but sweat-wicking. I have sensitive skin and I have to wash the silicone straps and let my wrist breathe every now and then if I don’t want to get a rash. Leather, on the other hand, is durable. Comfortable to wear and breathable and molds to your skin. I think it also looks classier and more professional than fabric or silicone.
Bluebonnet is a small Texas company that makes full-grain calf leather Apple Watch straps. I was very impressed with the thickness of the leather and the quality of the Apple Watch inserts and buckle (whether the metal parts are silver or stainless steel varies depending on the color of the band). It fits my Series 7 41mm perfectly. But if you have a smaller wrist, you’ll probably need to drill an extra hole or two in the band. Avoid the temptation to use a knife – or buy one a leather hole or take it to the store.
★ Alternative: If you’re a baller, Apple has it self-owned Hermès collaborations that I do not own. However, I’ve played with the Single Tour band for Apple Watch at Apple Events and they’re beautiful, and if you’re someone who cares about the label of a watch, they make your Series 10 more of a dress watch.
Quince is a direct-to-consumer business that aims to offer luxury essentials at affordable prices. Skin on it Apple Watch Band ($30) it’s stiffer and thinner, the color isn’t as vibrant, and the hardware is weird — I’m not sure why there’s an extra loop on top of the buckle. However, it comes in two different sizes, and the smaller one fits my Watch SE just fine. If you want a cheaper option, this will work for you.
