As fans continue to recover Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnellis divided Our they couldn’t help but wonder if they might give (or receive) roses again one day.
“I think it’s open,” the host Jesse Palmer he said My Weekly during an exclusive interview about his partnership with Great Clips. “First of all, I was really sad when I read it and I saw it too. And I sure hope they are both okay. This must be really, really hard for the two of them. And I know they want (and) will need time to process everything that happened.”
James, 33, announced on Thursday, January 16 that he and Kirkconnell, 28, had split. He used a photo from season 25 Bachelor — where they met four years ago — for his front-page announcement post.
“I think the last thing they wanted to think about was getting back on the show,” Palmer continued. “These decisions are way over my head. But I absolutely think the show would consider having one or both of them back if they were open to it.” Absolutely.”
While Kirkconnell and James are the latest split to rock Bachelor Nation, the show’s newest season — Season 1 of The Golden Bachelorette stars Joan Vassos — ended in an engagement.
“They’re all over,” Palmer said Our when asked about Vassos and the fiancé Chock Chapple. “They’re in New York and then they’re visiting her family and they’re back in Kansas and they’re just everywhere. Honestly, they’re a very tough Bachelor couple to keep up with.’
Vassos, 62, and Chapple, 61, said they were in no rush to walk down the aisle.
“But I know they’re both very excited,” Palmer continued. “They will enjoy each other’s company.” And look, I sure hope wedding bells are on the horizon sooner rather than later, but they’ve earned the right to have time to enjoy each other, and if they need an officiant, I know a guy.”
Meanwhile, Palmer prepares for the film’s premiere Grant Ellisseason 29 Bachelor.
“I don’t want to speak for Grant, but I think he’s very, very happy with how things ended,” Palmer teased Our. “I know he’s really excited for everyone to watch this whole thing unfold. Grant is very easy to root for. I’m rooting for him and I know he’s a guy who’s been so successful in everything he’s done in his life outside of love (so far).”
Fans waiting for the ABC show to return saw plenty of Palmer on the network via his Big Clips ad that aired during the College Football Playoff promoting the brand’s $9.99 haircut.
“I’m sorry, I’m not sorry,” he joked Our about how often the ad was aired. “I had so much fun. It was great. It’s the best time of the year — the national championship, the playoffs. We all want to look and feel our best. It’s great.”
The Great Clips coupon will only be valid at participating salons until January 31, 2025.
