This was said by US President Donald Trump would be open to Tesla CEO Elon Musk or Oracle chairman Larry Ellison are buying TikTok as part of a joint venture with the US government.
At a press conference on Tuesday, Trump was asked if he was ready to “buy Elon TikTok.” He replied that he would, adding, “I’d like Larry to get one, too.”
Trump signed the order on Monday to delay the expiration of the TikTok ban by 75 days and told the Justice Department not to impose the ban’s penalties. Although the app is back online, it is still not available in the app stores.
To keep the app alive, Trump is considering an arrangement where the government would allow the company to operate in the US in exchange for half of TikTok.
“I have the right to make a deal,” Trump said. “So what I’m thinking of telling somebody is buy it and give half to the United States of America, give half and we’ll let you.”
