Kaitlyn Bristowe was candid about her recent eyelid surgery — and what slowed her road to recovery.
Former Bachelorette party39, opened up about why she opted for upper blepharoplasty — cosmetic surgery that removes excess skin around the eyes — via Instagram on Wednesday, January 22.
She started by taking a picture of herself 10 years ago and shared that her eyes were always very closed. “I tried to fix it with Botox, but I got it. too bad botox and it actually fell off even more,” she explained, also pointing out that she’s had lip fillers, cheek fillers and glued some teeth in the past. “But I haven’t touched my face in years,” Bristowe added.
The reality star then cut to a recent shot of her eyes, which proved she had the correct amount of botox, but still had a hooded lid. “I realized it’s not that bad, but it’s something that bothered me for a very long time,” she said.
“I wanted to tone down the botox, so I thought a bleph would help open up that eye without getting all the botox,” Bristowe continued. “This was it. my first “plastic surgery” where I went ‘under the knife’. I removed a piece of skin from my lid.”
Bristowe went on to share photos of herself after the operation, which showed bruising and stitches on her eyelids – but she experienced a setback when one of her dogs scratched her stitches.
“My dog clawed at one of my eyes so I had to get one sewn back on,” she said in the clip. “So one heals a little slower than the other.
Aside from the discomfort, Bristowe shared that she felt “zero pain” during the surgery and “the scar is healing nicely.”
Now Bristowe’s bruises are gone and her eyes are no longer covered. Voila!
