Senator Lisa Murkowski, Republican for Alaska, voted in favor of 19 of the 21 Cabinet nominees of former president Joe Biden in 2021, as shown by a Fox News Digital Fox analysis.
Murkowski voted against the confirmation of former Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra and did not vote about the appointment of former Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.
He voted in favor of the Biden candidate for the Supreme Court, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Among those who criticized his position were representative Derrick Van Order, Republican for Wisconsin, former Navy Seal. Van Order pointed to Murkowski for voting for Biden Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, for his leadership during the withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan.
“You voted for the two men responsible for the murder of these 13 heroes. Internet is forever, your time in office,” Van Order wrote, in reference to the dead military during a suicidal attack in Kabul.

However, some on the right agree with Murkowski. A republican legislator previously told Fox News Digital about Hegseth: “The Army said goodbye to people who behaved as Hegseth. Being the (Secretary of Defense) will cause discipline problems.”

Murkowski He told Politico In 2020 that “all presidents have the right to their cabinet”, but it was the responsibility of the Senate to ensure that these people “are good, qualified and credible candidates.”
