Hearn calls Canelo vs. Crawford A “strange fight”: Are you right?

The Chief of Matchroom, Eddie Hearn, has described the fight between Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford as a “Strange fight” seeing it as only for “packet” when they potentially meet in September.

Hearn says that Crawford, 37, does not need to prove his worth in 168 first because he will only fight for a “money” fight against the super medium-sized champion of the AMB, the WBB and the OMB, Canelo (62-2-2- 2, 39 kos).

Crawford skip the tail

In other words, it is good for Crawford to row the row in front of the contestants who have been working hard to have the opportunity to compete for a world title. Is it fair? No.

It is completely unfair and it is worrying that another 154 -pound fighter has the opportunity to raise two weight categories to challenge Canelo for their titles instead of one of the most deserving contenders.

Boxing needs a commissioner

As Tim Bradley says, boxing needs a commissioner to supervise the sport to create rules against Line cutters obtaining undeserved opportunities to compete for world titles in weight categories in which they have never competed.

If there were a commissioner in charge of sport, they would not allow Crawford to rise to 168 to fight for world titles unless he obtained him defeating the main contestants in front of him.

Hearn’s defends “Freak Figh”

“No, because it is a strange fight. His career does not go around 168 pounds. It is a unique fight for a lot of money. That’s what it is, ”said Eddie Hearn to fight When asked to respond to critics who say Terence Crawford should be tested first against one of the best super mediums before challenging Canelo Álvarez for his three titles in 168.

“After that fight, it will probably go down again to 154. Do not forget it, they believe it had a bit against (Israil) Madrimov. He fought because Madrimov is a good fighter. He (Crawford) is not a great 154 -pound fighter, and don’t forget it. He got from 147, and before that he was in 140. Before that, he was in 135.

“Go from 135 to 168 and win the unified world title. That would be one of the biggest victories of all time, but you already know Bud. He is prepared for the challenge. I think he will make him the best fighter in our generation if he goes up and expires Canelo Álvarez in 168.

I do not agree with Hearn that Crawford does not need to win the fight against Canelo fighting first in 168. He should win it because how is this just for contestants such as Christian Mbilli, Diego Pacheco and Caleb Plant?

It is a joke for sport to see this line jumping. It is difficult to see boxing as a real sport when you see that fighters are allowed to upload two weight categories and immediately receive an opportunity for the world title.

Crawford curriculum

“He is a worldwide champion of four divisions,” Hearn said about Crawford. “It is indisputable in 140 and 147. I think its victories in 140 were not so strong. I mean, he beat everyone who had to do it. Errol Spence’s victory, obviously. Then, passing to 154. Madrimov is a very good fighter. You can always question people’s curriculum, but Terence is undoubtedly one of the best fighters of all time. ”

Crawford’s curriculum in 147 and 140 was weak as water, and won this mediocre group:

Errol Spence
José Benavídez Jr.
David Avanesyan
Jeff Horn
Shawn Porter
Kell Brook
Amir Khan
Egidijus Kavaliauskas
Julio Indongo
Félix Díaz
Juan Molina Jr.
Victor Póstol
Henry Lundy
Derry Jean
Thomas Dulore

Porter, Brook, Khan and Spence were all over the hill when Crawford fought against them. They were not even close to what they had been during the best moment of their careers. The only one at the elite level of that group was Spence, and was not the same fighter after 2018.

That was the last year of the main and old version of Spence. Crawford obtained Spence’s ruined version after its car accident, two years outside the ring and weight loss.

“He (Turki al-Sheikh) has a very high success rate. So, you have to think that there are many possibilities that this fight (Canelo Vs. Crawford) is carried out. I think it is a very intriguing fight between two great generational ones. I think it’s very difficult for Bud to get up so high, but if someone can do it, it could be him, ”said Hearn.

Canelo too much in 168

Crawford cannot rise 14 pounds since 154 to defeat Canelo in 168. That will not happen. Crawford will turn 38 in September, and it’s not Floyd Mayweather Jr, and even if it were, he would still be out of his league because Canelo no longer is 22 years old and will not be exhausted fighting in 152. That is the canelo age was when Mayweather He fought with him in a weight of 152.

“His movement and his intellectual coefficient are insurmountable, but it is difficult when you face Canelo Álvarez up there. They are not only 168. At night, they are probably 180, 185. It will be a great task, ”said Hearn about what Crawford faces.
