Actor Anthony Mackie, who plays Captain America in “Captain America: Brave New World”, published a statement explaining previous controversial comments about the character after they became viral online.
“Let me be clear about this, I am a proud American and assume a hero’s shield as Cap is the honor of his life,” Mackie wrote on Tuesday in comments shared on his Instagram account. “I have the greatest respect for those who serve and have served our country.
