The federal aviation administration is investigating a collision in the air of a American Airlines Regional Jet with a helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington’s National Airport outside Washington, DC
The regional plane Bombardier Crj700 of PSA Airlines crashed with a H-60 Sikorsky helicopter while the passenger plane approached track 33 at the airport, FAA said. Flight 5342 arrived from Wichita, Kansas.

Local officials confirmed that at least one plane was on the Potomac River. The images on social networks showed a great presence of emergency responders. Reagan Washington National was closed, FAA said.
American Airlines Posted in x that he was aware of the incident and would provide information as it was available.
The airline’s website says that its CRJ-700 plane has 65 seats.
The National Transportation Board will lead the incident research.
