NSA Waltz offers update on the DC plane accident
National Security Advisor Mike Waltz joins ‘Fox & Friends’ to provide an update on the American Airlines plane collision near DC and the Trump administration response.
The head of DC Fire and EMS, John A. Donnelly, announced at a press conference on Thursday that after the collision of a commercial plane with a military helicopter, almost 30 bodies were recovered. Donnelly added that the authorities do not believe that there are survivors of the accident.
“We have recovered 27 people from the plane and one from the helicopter,” he added. “Despite all these efforts, we are now at a point where we are changing a rescue operation to a recovery operation.”
“The Office of the Forensic Doctor District has led the meeting of these bodies and these people, with their loved ones,” Donnelly continued. “And we will continue working to find all the bodies and pick them up. And gather them with their loved ones.”
Speaking at the same press conference, the mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, thanked the lifeguards for working throughout the night in the “very frigid” river to recover bodies and seek survivors.
