#3 Christian Mbilli (28-0, 23 kos) and #4 Kevin Lele Sadjo (24-0, 21 kos) will meet in a super-medium weight of the FIB weight title in May in May in Paris, France. The winner of the Mbilli-Sadjo fight will be the mandatory challenger for the super medium-weight champion of the FIB, William Scull, or who holds the belt when they fight.
Title implications
If the Mbilli-Sadjo winner is lucky, Canelo Álvarez will have the title of IBF. It is not that he ever agreed to fight the winner, but there is always the possibility. That is not realistic, but he is the best winner of Mbilli vs. Sadjo that can wait.
If Scull still has the FIB belt, there is not much to fight financially, apart from capturing its title to use it as a bait for larger fights.
Today early, Y12 Boxing won a bag offer to organize the MBILLI-SADJO IBF title eliminator of 168 pounds. Sadjo, 34, is an eight -year -old professional. His best victory in the race so far is Jack Cullen, who does not say much. It has power, but it is short of 5’8 ″ and it does not have much time before it is on the hill. Mbilli should have few problems to overcome him.
Mbilli, 28, comes from a unanimous decision victory of 10 toughest than expected against Sergiy Derevyanchenko, on August 17. If Derevyanchenko were several years younger, he would probably have defeated Mbilli and made him look easy.
Scull (23-0, 9 kos) is now the probable opponent that the super medium weight champion of three unified events that will face Canelo in May 5. It is likely that Álvarez will choose to fight him because he wants to recover his IBF title.
The other options in 168 are much more risky for Álvarez. Nobody will get excited with Canelo Fighting Scull, but I don’t think he cares. Canelo has taken easy fights repeatedly in recent years since he lost to Dmitry Bivol in 2022. Scull fits with the type of opposition that Canelo has been celebrating.
