Skating Club Boston announces 6 “Family” members died in a crash


Six people associated with skating the Boston Club, including two young figure skaters, was killed in Deadly Flight Air Airlines 5342 Wednesday 29 January.

IN Statement published through Instagram Thursday, January 30, CEO and Club Executive Director, Doug Zeghibeannounced sixteen -year -old skaters Spencer Lane and Far were killed in a crash along with their respective mothers, Christine Lane and Yin han.

Skating Boston Coach Vadim Naumov and Emailngenia Shishkovawho were married were also killed.

“Our sport and this club have suffered a terrible loss with this tragedy,” the statement read. “Skating is a fixed community where parents and children meet 6 to 7 days a week to train and cooperate. Everyone is like a family. Of the skaters, coaches and parents on the plane, we believe that six were from skating in Boston. We are destroyed and completely in the loss of words. ”

The statement continued: “These athletes, coaches and parents returned from the US National Development Camp, after last week the US Championship in Wichita. This camp is designed for young competitive skaters tomorrow with the most promising that they will be a champion tomorrow. The club sent 18 athletes to compete at American championships. He sent 12 athletes to the National Development Camp. ”

“The American figure skating can confirm that several members of our skating community were unfortunately on board the American Airlines Flight 5342, which collided with a helicopter in Washington last evening,” a statement was read. “These athletes, coaches and family members were returning home from the National Development Camp, which took place in conjunction with the American figure skating championship in Wichita, Kansas.”

There were reportedly 60 passengers and four crew members on board the flight when they came across the Potorac River after colliding with an army helicopter near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, DC, are not considered survivors.

The names of other passengers on board the plane have not yet been released.
