Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Modern Family Daughter Sends Him to ‘Voicemail’

Jesse Tyler Ferguson he has nothing but love for his own Modern family costars – though his TV daughter, Aubrey Anderson-Emmonssometimes she leaves him to read.

“I just called her the other day and it went straight to voicemail,” Ferguson, 49, exclusively said My Weekly of Anderson-Emmons, 17, while promoting her partnership with Tovala for their smart oven.

He joked that being silenced was a stroke to his ego. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, she sent me to voicemail!’ Ferguson continued. “I call her and she sends me to voicemail. He says, ‘Oh my God, my TV dad is calling me.'”

The actor noted that he met Anderson-Emmons when she was just 3 years old, so he still thinks of her as a little girl sometimes. “But you know, she’s a different human being now,” he admitted.

Ferguson played Mitchell Pritchett Modern family for 11 seasons from 2009 to 2020. Anderson-Emmons joined the cast in 2011 as Mitchell and Cameron Tucker’s husband (Eric Stonestreet) daughter of Lily Tucker-Pritchett.

Although Ferguson didn’t like being sent to voicemail by his former colleague, he said Our he would like to reunite with Anderson-Emmons and others the rest of the cast for the film.

“We’ve been away from these characters for four or five years, like, let’s stop and see what’s happening five years later,” he said of his catch-up ideas for the film. “Maybe Mitch and Cameron they’ve still moved away and you want to see these characters together, so it could be around some kind of family reunion.”

Ferguson added that he would “like to check in with Lily” and see how she acts like a teenagerwho would be “almost on her way to college”.

As for the rest of the storyline, he felt that it should not be “too different from the series”. Instead, Ferguson suggested that a possible move would be a “deeper history of what’s happened over the last five years” and what kids are “engaged” in that time.

Ferguson doesn’t really care about the script, revealing that the tight-knit cast is just “dying to get everyone back together. we love each other so many.”

If Modern family the cast is doing a reunion, it has to be quick, according to Sofia Vergarawho played Gloria Delgado-Pritchett.

“We haven’t had much time since then. Ed (O’Neill) she’s old,” Vergara, 52, joked during an appearance in January The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonreferring to her TV husband, who played Jay Pritchett.

Vergara later admitted that she doesn’t think they need a reunion just yet. “I don’t know, but it doesn’t feel right,” she added. “I feel like we need a little more time.

Meanwhile, Ferguson said Our that Vergara’s comments about O’Neill, 78, prove how close the actors have become during their sitcom.

“We really like to tease each other. We love each other, you know we make each other laugh,” he explained. “Ed has such a great sense of humor. He read it. He said: “I can’t believe she said that.” But also like, well, Ed, you’re the oldest. If we look chronologically, you are the most worried about you.”

Both the fans and Ferguson are waiting for someone to get the green light AND Modern family reunionthe actor is busy with other projects – one of which is teaming up with Tovala to promote their smart oven.

“I love Toval. I’m super busy now that I have two childrenhe said Our partnership. “I have this (‘Dinner’s on Me’) podcast.” I actually eat on my podcast. So sometimes I need to make a meal for my family that doesn’t eat with me on my podcast. I have to do something easy.”

Ferguson explained that the facility was making time for dinner without stress. “I’m such a foodie too. I don’t like just throwing food out of the microwave,” he said, adding that Toval’s smart oven makes him feel like he’s “still somehow involved” in the cooking process.
