The CW initially saw success in 2009 when it adapted LJ Smith‘with The Vampire Diaries book series. Two years later, the chain expanded to include Smith’s The secret circle. Set in the fictional town of Chance Harbor, Washington, the series focuses on Cassie Blake, who, after moving to the town following the murder of her mother, she found out she was a hereditary witch and became the sixth member of the secret coven.
Despite becoming CW third highest rated artist, The secret circle was canceled after one season. Fans have tried to bring the show back with various campaigns, but The secret circle he hasn’t been brought back – yet.
Creator Andrew Miller teased where he is he would take the story if he gets the chance.
“A movie, a play, a crystal commercial, you name it,” Miller said Book Trib in 2012. “(Production company) Alloy (Entertainment) asked me if I would be interested in trying a lower budget version of the show that could be done on Netflix and I pitched them an idea that I really liked and would do second.”
He continued: “After (Shelley Hennig) is Diana after the finale to California, where she was alone and confused, struggling between her good nature and the dark magic she had just acquired to kill her father. My dream was to set her life in California and then bring (Phoebe Tonkin) Faye to screw it up.’
