The Venezuelan government said in a statement that the meeting between Maduro and Grenell in the presidential palace “took place with mutual respect and various problems of interest to both countries,” including migration, sanctions and Americans arrested, as Reuters reported.
Less than a month ago, Maduro swore a third six -year term as president of Venezuela. However, the United States government does not recognize it as the legitimate head of state of the country and, on the other hand, believes that Edmundo GonzálezThe candidate for the opposition coalition, won the recent elections by more than one margin of two to one.
In the Oval office on Friday, Trump said it is “a great opponent of Venezuela and Maduro.”
“They have treated us not so well. But they have tried, more importantly, the Venezuelan people very bad.”

Grenelll’s one hour’s visit to Venezuela also intended to force Maduro to accept the return of about 400 members of the Venezuelan Aragua Gang TrainThat the country’s attorney general, Tarek Saab, said he was dismantled in 2023.
