Justin Baldoni was dropped as a WME client.
According to PeriodWME announced on Saturday, December 21 that the talent agency is parting ways with Baldoni, in part due to a sexual harassment complaint filed against the actor/director by his It ends with us costar Blake Lively on Friday, December 20.
For her part, Lively is still represented by WME.
On Friday, Lively filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoniwhere she alleged his behavior on set It ends with us – in which he starred, directed and produced – caused her “serious emotional distress”. (The film was also executive produced by Lively and starred Lily Bloom.)
The suit alleges that a meeting was held during the film’s production in January 2024 to address Lively’s claims of a “hostile work environment” on set. The meeting was attended by many people who worked on the film, including Baldoni and Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds.
According to the complaint, Lively’s demands for the meeting included “no more showing nude videos or pictures of women to Blake, no mention of Baldoni’s alleged prior ‘pornography addiction’ no more discussions of sexual exploits in front of Blake and others, no more mentions of cast and crew’s genitalia, no more questions about Blake’s weight, and no more mention of Blake’s dead father.”
In the statement to My WeeklyBaldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman addressed Lively’s “completely false, outrageous and deliberately disgraceful” allegations, claiming the actress filed the lawsuit to “correct her negative reputation” and “correct the narrative” surrounding the film’s production.
Lively, on the other hand, accused Baldoni’s team of deliberately dragging her name through the mud a calculated “astroturfing” campaign.
In his statement to OurFreedman further alleged that Lively made “multiple demands and threats” during filming. It ends with ussuch as “threatening to not show up for the shoot, threatening not to promote the film, ultimately leading to its demise during release if her demands are not met.”
In the statement to The New York Times in December, Lively said, “I hope my legal action will help pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics that hurt people who speak up about bad behavior and help protect others who may be targeted.” The actress also denied spreading negative information about Baldoni.
