Tszyu’s return fight: Spencer in April

Tim Tszyu will return to the ring against Joey Spencer in April after a disastrous 2024. This fight is supposed to prepare Tszyu, 30, for a possible clash against Keith ‘One Time’ Thurman this year, provided they both win their fights.

Thurman, 36, faces Brock Jarvis on March 12 in Sydney, Australia, in a return fight after three years out of action.

Tszyu’s last opportunity?

@Dilytelegraph reports that Tszyu will fight Spencer (19-1, 11 ko) in April. Normally, this would look like a touch for Tim, but after the way he looked last year, it is impossible to predict how this fight will result for him.

It is not that Tszyu is shot; On the other hand, it has been repeatedly exposed in its last two fights, since not the guy that some boxing fans thought it was. Before losing his last two fights, the best victories of his Tszyu career had arrived against these fighters:

– Brian Mendoza
– Carlos Ocampo
– Tony Harrison
– Steve Spark
– Terrel Gausha
– Dennis Hogan
– Jeff Horn

The former Junior Medium Weight Champion of the OMB, TSZYU (24-2, 17 KOs) is in a must after 0-2 last year with a third round knockout for the 154-pound champion of IBF Bakhram Murtazalev and a divided decision of 12 rounds defeat against Sebastian Fundora.

Spencer, 24, was rejected by the OMB as an option for the 154 -pound champion to defend against the next one because it was not classified among the top 15. The native of Michigan, Spencer, has never defeated the notable fighters during his seven years Professional Professional career. His 19 victories have arrived against the dark second level opposition.

Will Tim’s chin hold?

When Spencer took a step to the world class, he was knocked out in the seventh round by Jesús Ramos on March 25, 2023. He was completely surpassed against Ramos, and was dominated until he was arrested in the seventh round.

Tszyu should have few problems to overcome Spencer, but we don’t know how bad his knockout against Murtazaliev affected him. They dropped it four times in that fight before the contest was stopped. If Tim’s blow resistance has diminished, it will not do well against Spencer because he has some pop in his blows.
