British Freegard Mem

A well -known scammer who spent four years in a British prison has now been sentenced to six years in France for ramming his car in two police while trying to avoid questioning.

Robert Hendy-Freamard, 53, had moved to a rural area of the center of France to raise Beagles illegally several years ago under a false name.

The neighbors already suspected him before two Netflix documentaries highlighted their activities as a scammer.

Hendy-Freegard had passed a spy of MI5 for women and students of £ 1m, but was released after four years when some of his convictions were annulled in appeal.

Representing in the court of Gueret, said he had not been aggressive but that he was worried.

“I had enough. I panicked,” he told the court, apologizing to the two gendarmes in which he had led in the small town of Vidaillat west of Clermont-Ferrand.

“I don’t stop because I am a human being with emotions.”

Prosecutor Alexandra Pethieu said that the rural area was not a war zone: “And yet, that day ended with a disconcerting scene worthy of Mad Max.”

An officer was shot down and another was thrown against car windshield for several meters.

Hendy Freegard, who told the Court that his real name was David Hendy, was released several years before appeal in the United Kingdom after his kidnapping positions were annulled.

Witnesses in their 2005 trial in the United Kingdom described how they had undergone years of poverty due to the power of them. The coercive or controlling behavior finally became a criminal offense in 2015 in England and Wales.

Hendy-Freamard was released from prison in 2009 and moved to France in 2015 to start a Beagle dog breeding business with his partner Sandra Clifton.

However, the neighbors began to suspect that Clifton was under their control.

When an initial documentary in 2022 came out, The Puppet Master: Hunting The Ultimate commemn, they contacted their children who had used the program to attract help to find it.

Clifton’s son traveled to the town and the Beagles were being removed by a local beneficial organization when Hendy-Freegard arrived. When the two gendarmes asked the questions of ex-conman, he expelled, hitting the officers and escaping Belgium.

He was later extradited and has spent more than two years in custody before going to trial for running over the two officers.

Hendy Freegard denied that his partner had been under his coercive control, telling the court that his neighbors had a problem with him due to the documentary.

However, Martine Laporte, the mayor of Vidaillat, said that what had emerged from the trial was that “it is manipulator until the end and that will not change.”

“It really has to be stopped because if it comes out, it will begin again and that is worrying,” said the French media.
