Two people have been accused in relation to the stabbed death of a soldier from Fort Campbell in Tennessee, and one of the suspects was the victim’s husband, police said Saturday.
The victim, the US Army., Private of First Class, Katia Dueas Aguilar, 23, suffered 68 white weapon wounds on his neck and body, according to an autopsy report from the County Forensic Doctor Office of Montgomery. His body was found at home in Clarksville, TennesseeIn May.
Sofia Rodas, 35, has been accused of first -degree murder and manipulation of evidence in Aguilar’s death, said Clarksville Police Department in a press release.

Aguilar’s husband, Reynaldo Salinas Cruz, 40, has been accused of manipulating evidence in the death of his wife.
Both suspects had been retained by unrelated federal positions before being extradited to Clarksville on Friday and served their accusations sealed in the Montgomery County PrisonAccording to the police.
The forensic doctor ruled the cause of death, a homicide due to acute neck injuries.

The case remains an open and active investigation, police said.
“The successful progression of this case highlights the critical association between the application of local law and military authorities to address severe crimes that affect the members of the service and their families,” police said in the statement.

Aguilar, from Mesquite, Texas, Enlisted in the army In 2018 before arriving at Fort Campbell, located on the border of Tennessee-Kentucky, a year later. He was a member of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101A Airborne Division.
