Season 6 of Virgin River ends with the departure of Mark Ghanime as Cameron

Virgin River is full steam ahead for Season 7 — minus one actor who has officially left the hit Netflix series.

After its sixth season, the showrunner premiered on Thursday, December 19 Patrick Sean Smith was asked about the actor Mark Ghanimé‘with future in the show as Cameron exclusively told My Weekly“I love that relationship and I think this season has been a bit embarrassing for Cameron. As for Mark, an actor I adore, unfortunately he won’t be back in season seven.”

Smith did not rule out a potential return in the future. “But that doesn’t mean Cameron isn’t part of our world forever,” he added. “I would love to bring him back and bring his character back when the story is introduced.

Ghanimé, 47, joined Virgin River in season 4 as a new face at Doc’s clinic and a love interest for Mel. Things quickly fell apart for Cameron and Mel and he subsequently got back together with Muriel but had to break up when his ex came back into the picture. Cameron and Muriel initially marked it as a termination in season 5, but returned after learning of her breast cancer diagnosis.

Elsewhere in the seasonMel (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack (Martin Henderson) finally got married. The couple was however, it was a surprise when a local teenage girl asked Mel to adopt her child.

“With Marley and this situation, we’re going to continue to see how Mel and Jack progress on their journey to parenthood,” Smith explained. Our. “As a newly married couple, we can live in the newlywed bliss they have and the challenges that come with it.”

He added: “I think with the pace we’re comfortable with, it gives us a lot of opportunity to tell more and more stories for as many seasons as possible.”

Virgin River revolves around the dramatic love lives of people living in a small town, but the actors have found more stable relationships in real life. There’s also a love triangle to worry about after Brie’s exes (Zibby Allen) and Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) slept together. However, fans of the fictional couple did not see them ride off into the sunset he brought news of their unbelief Brie’s friend Mike (Marco Grazzini). Instead, Mike decided to propose to her, causing Brie to become conflicted.

“A good love triangle is only as strong as the options you present, and also when you look at the impact (Brie’s) choice would have on her life,” Smith noted. Virgin River is currently streaming on Netflix and has already been renewed for Season 7.
