How networks decide their programming, My Weekly will continue to track what has been renewed and what TV shows have been canceled.
Slow horses was the first show to score renewal in 2024. In early January, Apple TV+ picked up the series for a fifth season, which will based on Mick Herronspy novel London Rules.
The series, which premiered in 2022, follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents assigned to paper-printing duties at Slough House. The stars of the slow horse Gary Oldman, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden and Christopher Chung.
Minx, meanwhile, he was not so lucky when it was canceled a second time. In May 2022, Max renewed Minx for a second season, but canceled the decision by the end year.
Starz lifted the show — with Season 2 premiering in July 2023 — but passed on ordering a third season. Before the cancellation was confirmed in January, Jake Johnson he indicated that he wasn’t expecting good news.
“On the evidence that I cut my hair short, I don’t (expect restoration),” Johnson said Period in December 2023, he called the series’ fate “unfortunate” because “there was a lot of that show”.
“I think the move to Starz — I think HBO is doing something like HBO or HBO Max, whatever it’s called now — I think it was brutal for (the show),” he added. “Then I think the strike went exactly as we tried to promote it. … I guess you can’t beat something so many times and move on.”
