The Department of Justice moves to the case against Eric Adams

Federal prosecutors on Friday asked a judge to withdraw the case of the Department of Justice against Mayor of New York Eric AdamsAfter the departure of several prosecutors who chose to resign instead of moving forward with the charges against Adams.

The news occurs after a federal prosecutor, do Scotten, resigned on Friday in a scathing letter, accusing the senior officials of the Department of Justice to seek a “fool.”

“Any American lawyer assistant would know that our laws and traditions do not allow us to use fiscal power to influence other citizens, much less elected officials, in this way,” Scotten told action Deputy Attorney General of the United States Emil Bove.

Adams reacted to the news that his accusation was abandoned on Friday, clarifying that he had not made an agreement to leave his case.

“I want to be clear with the New Yorkers: I never offered, nor did anyone offer in my name, any trade of my authority as mayor for the end of my case. Never,” Adam said in a published statement.

The head of the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, Chad Mizelle, called the decision to dismiss Adam’s “accusation”, another indication that this Department of Justice will return to its central function of Resting dangerous criminalsDo not pursue politically motivated witch hunts.

“The fact that those who accused and processed the case refused to follow a direct command is one more proof of the disorderly and hidden reasons for prosecutors. Such individuals do not take place in the Department of Justice,” Mizelle said in a statement in a statement Posted on Friday.
