Former NBA player Jeff Teague has some bold thoughts on a hypothetical matchup between Caitlin Clark and Bronny James.
“Caitlin wouldn’t score a point on Bronny, bro,” Teague, 36, said on the Monday, Dec. 23, episode of “The 520 Club” podcast to the question of who would win if the pair ever met. “He might not even get hit bro.
Teague, who previously played for the Atlanta Hawks for seven seasons, doubled down on the hot role that Clark, 22, lost to Bronny — who is the son of LeBron James — by a considerable amount.
“He would beat her by 60 (points),” Teague claimed. “He would legitimately beat her 20 (to) 0.”
Teague also said he thinks Bronny’s younger brother, Bryce Jameshe also “beat” the Indiana Fever star 20-0.
The discussion started when cohost Bishop B Henn boldly stated that he did not believe any WNBA player could successfully face an NBA player. Fellow cohost DJ Wells he shared that he thought several female athletes could be “considered depending on the match”. However, all men agreed that the physicality of an NBA player would give them an advantage over women.
Teague doesn’t think either Aja Wilsonwho plays for the Las Vegas Aces could beat Bronny even in a singles match due to the size difference.
“He’s 10 times more athletic than (Wilson). He can do everything better than her,” he said. “She’s a girl bro, he’s much more physically imposing. I mean she’s good, she’s a hooper, she’s a good person, but she’s a man.’
Teague added that in his experience, when he faced a woman on the basketball court, he won every time.
“No girl has ever beaten me one-on-one against my mom,” he claimed. “If a girl beats me one-on-one, I swear I’ll never pick up a basketball again.”
While the men were against today’s WNBA stars, the men spoke highly of them JuJu Watkins and Maya Moore.
Bronny, 20, and Clark were two of the most talked about basketball players last year. In her first WNBA season, Clark, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, did already broken records and was unanimously selected as the league Rookie of the Year.
Bronny, for his part, was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers second round of the 2024 NBA draft. While Bronny made history when his father became the first father-son duo playing in the NBA at the same time and Bronny had limited playing time. Throughout his rookie seasonhe was assigned several times to the South Bay Lakers, the team’s minor league counterpart.
