Jennifer Lopez opens up about his quest to be best mom to your children and the best version of yourself.
“As a mom, you always want to do the best for your kids,” Lopez, 55, said. British Vogue in an interview published on Friday, December 20. “You want to pick them up. But that doesn’t stop you from being a human being who fights.’
Lopez shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emma with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
In his new movie UnstoppableLopez plays the mother Anthony Roblesa wrestler who was born with one leg and won the national championship in 2011.
Lopez said she connected Judy RoblesA real-life story about wanting to be the best parent you can be, even when faced with hardships.
“Being a mom and knowing what that is, wanting to give the best to my children and always putting my best face on them, but also fighting as a woman in relationships and in life with my own dreams and my own aspirations. and what it means and how it feels,” Lopez explained, “I think that was the biggest thing for me.
Later in their conversation, Lopez said she felt “very deeply” about Judy’s marital difficulties because “she was in the same place at times.” (Judy divorced her husband after 20 years of marriage.)
“Maybe I shouldn’t give that person a chance, you know what I mean?” Maybe I should call it quits now and come back,” Lopez explained. “I don’t think there’s a woman on Earth who isn’t in that position—or even a man!”
Anthony, 56, and Lopez split in 2011 after nearly seven years of marriage. Their divorce was finally finalized in 2014.
“When my marriage ended, it wasn’t easy to find forgiveness,” Lopez said W in May 2016. “It wasn’t the dream I was hoping for and it would have been easier to fan the flames of resentment, disappointment and anger. But Marc is the father of my children and that will never go away. So I have to work to put things right. And that’s by far the hardest job I do.”
Recently, Lopez completed her two years marriage with Ben Affleck in August 2024. Since then, he has called her appearance in Unstoppable “spectacular.” (Affleck’s production company, Artists Equity, produced the sports drama.)
Lopez said she wants to give herself more credit for what she’s been through in her personal and professional life.
“Now I think with everything that’s happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it’s like giving myself a little comfort and love,” she said October interview for Interview magazine. “We’ve been through a lot of things that no one knows about and you’ve persevered and refuse to give up and let it get you down.
Unstoppable is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on January 16, 2025.
