Having grown up to General Hospital, Brooklyn Rae Silzer with earlier this week saying goodbye to her longtime fans and TV alter ego Emma Drake after her role was recast.
Silzer, 18, broke her silence about her a bittersweet departure on Monday, Dec. 23. “A little note to my family @GeneralHospital and the fans who have loved me over the years ❤️ B xoxo,” she captioned the social media post shared via X.
“To my wonderful. General Hospital to the family that has supported me and watched me grow over the years as Emma, I am forever grateful,” she wrote. “While it is sad that my time at Emmy has come to an end, I will cherish all the memories and friendships I have made.
The actress continued: “I feel so lucky to have been cast as Emma 13 years ago and to have had the opportunity to develop her character over the years.”
She concluded: “I am forever grateful for the General Hospital and Emma will always have a special place in my heart.”
Silzer joined the cast General Hospital in 2011 when she was just 5 years old. She portrayed Robin Scorpio (orig Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake (most recently portrayed Jason Thompson in 2016) daughter Emma as a series regular until 2016. She has since appeared as a guest star.
After more than ten years on the soap opera, Silzer was replaced Braedyn Brunerwho debuted as Emma on Monday.

Silzer, meanwhile, wished her successor the best of luck in a post on social media on Monday. “I’m so excited to see Braedyn take care of Emma and bring new layers to her character,” she said of the soap’s newest actress.
Silzer’s departure is the latest casting shakeup General Hospital this year. Michael Easton — who played various characters including Silas Clay and Hamilton Finn — announced his departure in June after 944 episodes.
