Although he retired undefeated, Marciano’s returns

In June 1954, the undefeated heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano defended his title against former champion Ezzzard Charles at Yankee Stadium in New York.

The first round was rocky for Rocky. Charles was a very good one in the fighter. There were acute court rights of Charles, who opened a cut in the eye of Marciano. In the fourth round, Marciano was cleaning the blood of his eye. Marciano’s body was beating, but hung there fighting there. Marciano’s granite jaw took everything Charles distributed against a man with twice the amount of experience.

Marciano’s left eye cut continued to bleed. Charles would go back to Marciano when he was in Clinches. Marciano landed an uppercut, swinging to Charles. Charles’ mouth was spitting blood from a Marciano left hook. Charles was starting to get tired when Marciano was solid like a rock.

A combination of Marciano in the chin shook Charles, who continued pushing Marciano in a Clinch. Charles’ cheekbones had swollen.

It was the final round with Marciano turning the course from the tenth round. Charles, still trying not to be knocked out, cling when he was close. Marciano continued the attack, trying a knockout. Knowing that Charles won the first half of the fight, he may have reduced to the final round. For the first time in fifteen rounds, Charles Back touched the strings, showing how exhausted it was. Then came the decision. 8-6-1 Martian. 8-5-2 even. Marciano 9-5-1 Marciano is still the world champion.

In September, Yankee Stadium were repaired again at Bronx. Marciano had Charles in the second round. In the seventh round, Martian’s nose was very cut. The ring doctor told him that he only had a round, or that he would stop the fight. In the next round, Marciano again dropped Charles, ending the fight.

Looking back in other returns, he fought with ‘Jersey’ Joe Walcott for his title. Walcott was in rounds 4-7, 4-8, 5-7 after 12 rounds. In the thirteenth Ronda, Marciano landed to the right on the chin, completely changing Walcott’s face out of shape, and it was for the count.

In September 1950, Marciano won a divided decision on Roland Lastarza in Madison Square Garden for 5-5, 4-5 and 5-4 scores. For the New York punctuation system, the referee (not a judge) made Marciano win 9-6, making the decision. Lastarza got off in the fourth round, and Marciano lost a point in the eighth round due to a blow.

In September 1953, about three years later, when Marciano was a champion, they had a rematch. Marciano was ahead by 5-1 and 6-1 scores twice, eliminating Lastarza in the eighth round.
