Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman remained on good terms after their division.
The couple met and started dating in 2013. As their relationship progressed, TV personalities often asked if she wanted to walk down the aisle again. Kotb was previously married Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008. After Kotb adopted daughter, Haley in 2017, questions about her future with Schiffman continued. In January 2018, she said Ellen DeGeneres that they “might” tie the knot.
“I feel like everything is great. He’s Haley’s dad. I’m Haley’s mother. We are together,” she said at the time. “I feel like there’s no rush except that we’re old and probably — if we do it, we could do it.” But I think it’s fun that way. I don’t mind. … We enjoy life. Yeah, I think we’re good that way.”
Their family grew again in April 2019 when she adopted daughter Hope. He proposed that November. Less than three years later, however, she announced their breakup.
“Joel and I had a lot of prayerful and really meaningful conversations over the holidays, and we decided that we were better as friends and parents than as fiancés,” she said. Today viewers in January 2022. “So we decided to start this new year and kind of start it on our new journey as loving parents to our adorable, adorable children and as friends.”
