Ukraine must reach the Mineral Agreement, says Trump Mike Waltz advisor

The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, needs to return to the negotiating table and reach an agreement on the United States access to the critical minerals of Ukraine, said the national security advisor of the National House Mike Waltz.

On Wednesday, Zelensky rejected the US demands of a part of his rare earth minerals: an “agreement” said that Trump would reflect the amount of help that the United States had provided to Ukraine during his war with Russia.

The comments, made in an informative session of the White House on Thursday, eclipsed a kyiv meeting between Zelensky and Keith Kellogg, the United States chief envoy to Ukraine.

Waltz said the White House was “frustrated” with Zelensky after he leveled “unacceptable” insults to the president of the United States, Donald Trump, earlier this week.

Ukraine has huge deposits of critical and mineral elements, including lithium and titanium, as well as the important deposits of coal, gas, oil and uranium, a supply worth bills of dollars.

Earlier on Thursday, Waltz suggested that American access to rare minerals in Ukraine could be exchanged in exchange for help, or even as compensation for the support that the US has already provided.

“We present to the Ukrainians an incredible and historical opportunity,” said the advisor, adding that it would be “sustainable” and “the best” security guarantee that Ukraine could expect.

But Zelensky had rejected the offer, saying: “I can’t sell our state.”

Waltz’s comments in the White House news session took Security “with the United States to end war in Ukraine.

The meeting was acclaimed as “productive” by Zelensky, but it looked more like an uncomfortable political date.

While Donald Trump’s high -ranking members continued directly related to Moscow, the retired general had said he was in kyiv to “listen.”

But soon it became evident that he would not speak, publicly that is after a press conference was canceled at the last minute.

The BBC understands that it was a decision of the United States, with Ukrainian sources stating that they believed that Kellogg had been “marginalized” by the White House.

The meeting with Kellogg had been of great importance for kyiv, since officials trust the special envoy to transmit their needs to Washington.

In a publication shared in X, the Ukrainian President said that he and the special envoy of the United States had “a detailed conversation about the situation of the battlefield, how to return our prisoners of war and effective security guarantees.”

He added: “Ukraine is ready for a strong and effective investment agreement with the president of the United States.”

However, the possible reasons for Mr. Kellogg not to face questions are found.

Kellogg’s meeting comes in the context of a war war between his boss Donald Trump and the leader of Ukraine, who culminated in the president of the United States referring to Zelensky as a “dictator without elections.”

Trump also blamed him to begin Russia’s invasion.

There are now reports that the United States is refusing to recognize a UN resolution that labels Moscow as an aggressor while recognizing the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Earlier this week, Zelensky was excluded from the conversations between the high Russian and American officials who met in Saudi Arabia to discuss the possibility of ending the conflict.

The war began when Russia launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine three years ago, after its previous annexation of the Ukrainian territory.

Trump, who has been in office for a month, believes that participation in the United States in the war is not of American interest, and in a radical reversal of the previous foreign policy of the United States, he has chosen to negotiate directly with Russia to ensure a quick end to the conflict.

On Tuesday, the Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, emerged after more than four hours of conversations with Russian diplomats in Riad to declare that the first steps towards the negotiations had been agreed, with teams that will be formed on both sides .

After the meeting in the Middle East, Trump suggested that Zelensky had “started” war with Russia, statements that led Zelenky to describe the president of the United States as “living in this disinformation space” governed by Moscow.

Trump replied his “dictator” attack and said Zelensky had low popularity grades between the Ukrainian electorate.

Looking towards the future, Ukraine will be concerned about the perspective of the United Russian-United States conversations that continue without the direct participation of Ukraine.

“Nothing is out of the negotiation table,” said American vice president JD Vance.

The problem for Ukraine is that he is not even sitting on that.
