Boxing results: Bivol comes to the loss, defeat Bederbiev in the rematch in Kingdom Arena

Artur Bederbiev (21-1, 20 kos) finally tested the defeat for the first time, losing his indisputable clear weight championship against Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 kos) in his rematch on Saturday night in the kingdom in Riadh

Bivol, 34, used its upper hand speed, combination and movement coup to enclose its path to a decision. Beterbiev had his moments, landing hard blows when he could reach Bivol, but could not cut the ring well enough. It was a fight that should probably have been a draw, but it works well with him for Bivol. At least now, fans and promoter Eddie Hearn, who complained about the previous fight, cannot make a scandal. They got their victory.

The scores

114-114
116-112: Bivol
115-113: Bivol

The fight lacked drama, mostly involving Bivol moving around the ring, throwing fast shots and then binding Beterbiev. It would be more interesting for fans to see if Bivol had been standing and committed, but that is not his style. It is an engine. All the movement that Bivol used made impossible for Bederbiev to take off his shots. When Bivol right in front of him was not throwing enough.

He was waiting until the perfect moment, and Bivol was able to take off his shots. On the 12th, Beterbiev left his cautious style and his bivol hit in that round. If I had fought in the other rounds, it would have been a unilateral fight. Bivol would probably have been knocked out because his left eye was in poor condition of that round. He looked at trouble when the fight ended.

This fight would have been better on the billboard under Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs. Israil Madrimov Choque. That was easily the best of fights on tonight’s main card. The chest fight between Joseph Parker, an obese, Martin Bakole, turned out to be a horrible mismatch.

With the victory, Bivol and Beterbiev will probably meet in a trilogy below. That will depend on Turki Alalshikh decide if you want to go in that direction. After tonight’s boring revenge, it would be better for the boxing public if Turki was in a different direction and made David Benavidity challenge Bivol for his four titles. Obviously, the promoter of Bivol, Eddie Hearn, will probably try to convince Turki to put aside the trilogy with Becterbiev to focus on Benavidez or Canelo Alvarez.

The Mexican superstar Canelo is busy fighting Terence Crawford below, so it is not a viable option this year until Turki can negotiate a fight for December that involves Bivol.
