Galatasaray said that “the criminal procedures” would begin against Fenerbahce’s manager, José Mourinho, after affirming that he made “racist statements” after the 0-0 draw of the teams on Monday.
It was not clear to what statements Galatasaray referred to.
Speaking at the press conference after Istanbul’s derby, Mourinho said the local bank had been “jumping as monkeys” and also repeated his criticisms to the Turkish referees, saying that it would have been a “disaster” to use an official of the country.
Monday’s game was arbitrated by Slavko Vincic Sloveno after both clubs requested a foreign official to take over the party.
In addition to the threat of legal actions, Galatasaray said they would present “official complaints” to the government governing bodies.
Mourinho – a former Chelsea manager, Manchester United and Tottenham, and Fenerbahce have not yet responded to the accusations.
After the game, Mourinho was asked about the performance of the 19 -year -old defender Yusuf Akcicek and said: “I have to thank the referee. After the great immersion in the first minute and his bank jumping as monkeys at the top of the child .
He added: “I went to the referee’s locker room after the game, of course the official fourth was there, a Turkish referee. I said ‘thanks for coming here, you come to a great game’ and headed to the fourth official and I said ‘if You were a referee, this game would be a disaster. ‘”
In a statement, Galatasaray said: “Since the beginning of his management duties in Turkey, the manager of Fenerbahce, José Mourinho, has persistently issued derogatory statements directed towards the Turkish people. Today, his speech has intensified beyond comments simply Imoral in the inhumiquely inhuman inhuman inhuman rhetoric.
“Therefore, we formally declare our intention to initiate criminal procedures related to the racist statements made by José Mourinho, and consequently we will present the official complaints to UEFA and FIFA.
“In addition, we will diligently observe the position adopted by Fenerbahce, an institution that professes to defend ‘exemplary moral values’, in response to the representable behavior exhibited by its manager.”
The two -time winner of the Champions League, Mourinho, 62, was appointed manager of Fenerbahce last summer and was prohibited and fined earlier this season to condemn arbitration standards in Türkiye.
Before Monday’s party, he had welcomed the decision to use a foreign official after previously describing the environment in the country as “toxic.”
“I think it is important for credibility, for the image of the game,” said Mourinho.
