The Scottish businessman Campbell Scott found dead in Kenya

A Scottish businessman who disappeared in Kenya has been found dead.

Campbell Scott, from Figfe, attended a conference at the JW Marriott hotel in Nairobi when he was last seen by colleagues on February 16.

The 58 -year -old was a senior director of the Fico Credit Score firm. His employer confirmed to the BBC on Monday that the Local Police had identified his body.

A firm spokeswoman said the staff was “devastated” by the news.

She added: “Campbell was a leader in our international scores business.

“He joined Fico in 2014 and was essential to introduce scores in the new markets and grow our business with existing associations. We regret his death and lose his humor and kindness.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Campbell. We ask that the media respect their privacy.”

Scott studied at Woodmill High School at Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Technical College, going to work for several companies before joining Fico.

The JW Marriott Hotel is located in the Westlands district of Nairobi, a Rica commercial area.

Police launched a search after their disappearance and was assisted by Interpol, according to newspaper reports.

The United Kingdom Foreign Ministry has been contacted to comment.
