The members of the US service that are transgender or otherwise exhibit gender dysphoria are prohibited from military service unless they obtain an exemption, according to an internal memorandum of the Pentagon.
The Memo, revealed in a judicial presentation On Wednesday night, he details the new Trump administration policy regarding transgender people. The policy indicates that these members of the service “can be considered for an exemption case by case, provided there is a convincing government interest.”
“The members of the service that have a current diagnosis or history, or exhibit symptoms consisting of gender dysphoria, disqualify the military service,” says the memorandum.
“The members of the service that have a history of hormonal therapy between sex or history of sex reassignment or genital reconstruction surgery as a treatment for gender dysphoria or in search of a sexual transition, are disqualified from military service,” continues the memorandum.

The memorandum continues to stipulate a series of requirements that a welder must meet to obtain an exemption.
The soldier must demonstrate 36 consecutive months of “stability in the sex of the service member.” The soldier must demonstrate that they have never tried to make the transition to any sex other than their sex. Finally, the soldier must be willing to adhere to any standard associated with his sex.
