Five ex Defense secretaries On Thursday, he issued a scathing letter that assaulted President Donald Trump for saying goodbye to the president of the Jefications of Joint General Staff and other Higher Officers.
In an open letter published on Thursday, former defense secretaries James Mattis, Leon Panetta, Lloyd Austin, Chuck Hagel and William Perry Congress urged To celebrate immediate audiences on the recent Trump’s dismissals of the President of the Joint Chiefs, General CQ Brown, and several other superior military leaders.
They said that senators should “refuse to confirm” any new nomination to the Department of Defense in response to the shots.

In the letter, they alleged that Trump’s actions undermined “our totally voluntary strength and weakened our national security” and accused the president of trying to turn the United States Apolitic Army into an instrument of partisan policy and wearing shots, which extend towards the main lawyers of the army, the Navy and the Air Force, to do so.
All defense secretaries, but one, James Mattis, served under democratic administrations.
Trump announced the shots on Friday night, but his administration has not yet clarified in any detail what caused the unprecedented shaking, which also included the dismissal of the head of The NavyAlmirante Lisa Franchetti, the first official woman to direct a military service.

The General of the Air Force, CQ Brown, was only the second black officer to become president of the joint bosses and was less than half of his four -year mandate when they let him go.
“Trump’s layoffs raise worrying questions about the desire for the administration to politicize the military,” they wrote. “We, like many Americans, including many troops, we have to conclude that these leaders are being fired for purely partisan reasons.”
Fox News Digital has communicated with the White House to comment on the letter.
The former defense secretaries asked the Congress to celebrate hearings to “evaluate the national security implications” of Trump’s layoffs. Republicans have a majority in both cameras.

The letter warned that the actions in the Pentagon could deter to the Americans to choose a life in the army, if their careers are judged through the lens of the partisan policy. It could also have a chilling effect in saying “truth to power,” they warned.

“We wrote to urge the United States Congress to hold Mr. Trump to take into account these reckless actions and completely exercise their constitutional supervision responsibilities,” they wrote.
