President Donald Trump continued to play the global disruptor this week, while the rest of the world did everything possible to interact with him.
His sixth week in office saw developments in the country and abroad, since the president of the United States received foreign leaders at the White House, including the United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Wars in Ukraine and Gaza also rose great, sometimes surprising ways.
If you are looking for a position up to date, here is a reminder of 10 important movements of the Trump administration this week.
Trump held his first cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Among those present was the billionaire advisor of President Elon Musk, who is not really a member of the Cabinet.
A large issue was Doge Plan, the so -called Government Efficiency Department, which Musk directs, to reduce the size of the federal bureaucracy.
The same day of the meeting, a memorandum was sent to federal agencies that were asked to present plans for “a significant reduction” in their staff before March 13.
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, was the first foreign visitor to come to the White House this week.
Trump was the host of Macron on Monday, the third anniversary of the large -scale invasion of Russia of Ukraine.
After the meeting, Macron said Trump had “good reasons” to restore communication with the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, a notable deviation from the previous policy of France to isolate it. But he did not receive a Trump commitment that the United States would help Europe with their security needs.
The United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer also met with the president of the United States this week. The two discussed the security and security guarantees of the United States for Ukraine.
Trump said there was a “very good opportunity” for a commercial agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom, where “tariffs would not be necessary.” Such agreement, Trump said, could be “quite fast.”
In the middle of his opening comments, Sir Keir reached his jacket pocket and took an official letter from King Charles, an invitation for a second visit to the State.
Trump seemed really bewildered for a few seconds, asking: “Are I supposed to read it right now?”
After taking a minute to read the letter, Trump said he accepted the invitation and that it would be an “honor” to visit the “fantastic” country.
Ukraine and the United States drafted an agreement that would give the United States to the deposits of rare land minerals of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was expected to travel to Washington DC on Friday to sign it.
Zelensky said he hoped that the “preliminary” agreement with the United States “leads to other agreements”, but already confirmed that US security guarantees have not yet been agreed.
In particular, Trump seemed on Thursday to return from his harsh criticism to Zelensky, whom he called a “dictator” last week. When asked Thursday, Trump replied: “I said that? I can’t believe that I would say.”
Trump shared a controversial video generated by Gaza’s AI, which seems to represent the ancient enclave as a Mediterranean complex directed and operated by the president of the United States.
The clip, which caused a frenzy on social networks, occurred after Trump had declared the controversial plan of his administration to take care of Gaza and rebuild him in the “Riviera” of the Middle East.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced a plan of $ 1 billion (£ 792 million) to help US farmers fight a furious epidemic of avian flu for birds that have required them to kill millions of chickens and push the cost of eggs to a historical maximum.
The authorities say they will budge $ 500 million for biosafety measures, approximately $ 100 million for the research and development of vaccines, and $ 400 million for financial relief programs.
Trump released plans to sell a “gold card” visa for $ 5 million (£ 3.9 million) that will offer rich permanent residence buyers in the United States and a path to citizens.
The president told reporters that visas would function in a similar way to green cards, which allow immigrants of various income to live and work permanently in the United States, but would go to “high -level people.”
“People who can pay $ 5 million will create jobs,” Trump said. “It will sell like crazy. It’s a bargain.”
Republicans in the United States Representatives Chamber approved a bill of multimillionaire government expenses on Tuesday, a great impulse for Trump that advances its agenda.
Includes $ 4.5 billion (£ 3.6TN) in tax cuts, partially financed through expense reductions, but also potentially increasing the substantial debt battery in the United States government.
However, there are still a number of steps through which the expenses plan must pass to become law.
Trump said he would invite Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to celebrate his recent victory in the Super Bowl, despite the rumors that the champions could reject the invitation.
“Absolutely, an invitation will be extended,” Trump said in the Oval office on Tuesday. “They deserve to be here, and we hope to see them.”
The Eagles jumped a visit to the White House when they won in 2018, but the team plans to attend the event this year, US media reported.
