The DOD sends more than 1,000 additional troops to help ensure the southern border


He Ministry of Defense (DOD) is sending 1,140 additional American troops to the southern border of the United States to help reinforce customs efforts and border protection of the United States (CBP) to control the influx of illegal immigrants.

“The DOD continues to work with the National Security Department to fill the critical capacities gaps on the southern border according to the executive order of President Trump, ‘protecting the US people against the invasion,” said the northern command of the United States (Usnorthcom).

There are currently 4,300 active service troops in the United States in the South border, and 1,140 additional troops will take the total of 5,440 members of the active service service.

Usnorthcom said additional troops will provide support to joint operations of the task force, including command and control of sustainable units and logistics support coordination, field food support sites and logistics movement control.

The army units that are being deployed will come from the support brigade of the 101st division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Alpha Company, 189a Division of Holding Battalion (DSSB), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Bravo Company, 68th DSSB, Fort Carson, Colorado; Charlie Company, 129th DSSB, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Headquarters and the company of the headquarters, 264th Fight Hold Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 70º Movement control team, Langley-Eustis Joint Base, Virginia; and 564th Quartermaster Company, Joint Base Lewis-Mcchord, Washington.

The Trump administration has designated eight gangs and posters, including Aragua Train, the Sinaloa and MS-13 poster, foreign terrorist organizations in a movement that expands the ability of the United States government to meditate on criminal organizations operating in their territory.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said at the time of this month’s announcement that there was a “sufficient factual basis” under section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Law to issue the designations against gangs and posters.

The Trump administration also began sending illegal immigrants flights to the Guantanamo Bay Detention Site in Cuba earlier this month.

Around 30,000 “illegal criminal foreigners” could be held at the base that once housed hundreds of prisoners, only 15 of which remained before Trump began sending migrants there.
