The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, did not apologize for the heated exchange with President Donald Trump in the oval office, but told Fox News in an exclusive interview that trusts that his relationship can be saved.
“Mr. President, do you think your relationship with President Trump after today can be saved?” Fox News political presenter, Bret Baier, asked Zelenskyy.
“Yes, of course, because more than two presidents are relationships. They are historical relationships, the strong relationships between our people. And that is why I always started … to thank their people from our people,” Zelenskyy said during an exclusive interview about “Special Report” Friday.
“Of course, grateful to the president and, of course, Congress. But in the first place, your people … We wanted to have all these strong relationships (sic) and where he said. We will have it.”
Zelenskyy said that “I wasn’t sure I had done something wrong” when he asked the heated exchange, but admitted that the dust was “bad for both sides.”
Zelenskyy’s meeting with President Trump and Vice President JD Vance exploded in a shout match at the White House on Friday that was seen throughout the world. The Ukrainian president traveled to the United States to meet with Trump after the commander in chief said that a peace negotiation to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is in its final stages.
The Trump administration was also working to initiate an agreement with Ukraine that would allow the United States access to Ukraine minerals in exchange for support that the United States offered to the Nation since the war broke out in 2022, as part of the Peace Agreement.
The launch of the Oval office led to a canceled press conference, a mineral agreement outside the table and Trump asking the Ukrainian president to leave, confirmed a White House official.
