The deputy director of the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY), Michael Trahan, said the teams responded around 9:45 am on Friday to a report that the workers were trapped in a scaffolding in 25 Columbus Circle.
“When the units stopped, the scaffold swayed, crashing into the building,” Trahan said. “There was glass throughout the street.”

EMS teams treated the two workers after taking them to a safe place, then transported them to Newyork-Presbyterian / Weill Cornell Medical Center.
