“I do not believe that AOC is out of dispute to run for president in 2028, and if that is the case, (trans inclusion in women’s sports) is certainly something that would want to distance himself.”

Ocasio-Cortez spoke for the last time on the subject directly when the House of Representatives voted about the protection of women and girls in the sports law on January 14. That day, he gave a passionate and controversial speech on the floor of the camera, where he affirmed that the bill would empower children’s sexual predators and that “trans girls are girls.”
The speech lit a huge violent reaction and mockery, even by the Democrats, one of which told Fox News Digital that and others were not registered with the party in response.
Since then, President Donald Trump approved an executive order that prohibits trans inclusion in women’s sports at the national level, and NCAA has modified their gender eligibility to comply with the order. Meanwhile, multiple Democratic states have openly challenged Trump, which caused federal investigations against these states and potentially cuts the financing in response.
On Monday, the Law on the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports will obtain a vote on the Senate floor.
Ocasio-Cortez has not intervened in the subject, despite being a remarkable defender of trans inclusion in the past. She has only referred to a recent exchange between Trump and the governor of Maine Janet Mills on the subject with a Bluesky post that says: “This is how it is done.” However, it has not addressed Trump’s order or the question of trans inclusion in any detail.
During a virtual town hall organized by Ocasio-Cortez on February 21, he did not address the problem even though Fox News Digital sent a question about it. The Ocasio-Cortez office has not responded to multiple requests for comments on the issue of Fox News Digital by email.

Ocasio-Cortez has previously voted in favor of multiple bills that would allow trans athletes to play in women’s sports and girls throughout the country, including equality law and the declaration of transgender rights. The congressmen suggested that the Green Party was “predator” in an X Post responding to the 2024 VP, the vice president of the Green Party, Butch Ware, speaking against trans inclusion in women’s sports.
Before that, Ocasio-Cortez even criticized former President Joe Biden, who made multiple efforts to allow trans inclusion, not to do enough to enable him.
In April 2023, when Biden proposed a change in the title IX that would prohibit prohibitions to trans athletes in girls’ sports, but would allow students to prohibit students “based on a set of criteria related to sex exclusive to their community,” Ocasio-Cortez called it a “misfortune.”
“Absolutely no reason for Biden administrator to do this. He is indefensible and shameful,” he wrote in X that month. “The administrator can still return this, and they should. It is a shame.”
However, the problem of trans inclusion in women and girls sports has become a widely opposite problem in the last year, and the data suggests that it even affected the result of the 2024 elections.
