Taylor Swift bassist Amos Heller offers a behind-the-scenes look

Taylor Swifthe is almost two years old Eras Tour run has moved fans around the world—including her longtime bassist Amos Heller.

Heller, 47, who joined Swift’s band in 2007, took to social media on Tuesday, Dec. 10, to reflect on the highs and lows he experienced during the tour.

Heller shared a series of photos of himself and Swift, 34, performing at various locations, captioning: Instagram carousel with a long and moving tribute as he described the “ride of a lifetime”.

Starting with some of the tour’s most demanding requests, Heller wrote, “No more premature calls to the lobby. No more airports. No more dragging your suitcase and Mono pulling the escalator through the line from the baggage claim. No more heating, no more cooling. No more checking my watch 20 times to make sure I don’t miss a call. No more family goodbyes, no more “how long does he sleep?” No more jet lag.”

Heller’s tribute then shifted to the challenges of traveling to the far corners of the globe. Eras Tourwhich, after opening in March 2023, performed 152 performances on five continents, became the most profitable tour of all times.

“No more slipping into new languages, cultures, cuisines, accents. No more snow in Tokyo, watch factories in Switzerland, museums in Sweden, bass shops in Australia, steaks in Rio, tattoos in Ireland, runs in Germany, flowers in Amsterdam,” Heller continued. “It’s done.

The musician then moved on to his most memorable highlights, including making himself feel like a “gladiator” walking into any stadium. “No more screaming texts with a complete stranger who is now your best friend. No more staring in awe at your family/friends who moments ago shared a ridiculous joke, suddenly transformed into iconic titans, towering and thriving in blinding lights,” he wrote. “I will no longer be challenged to dig as deep as I can, demanding the best that I am capable of.”

Heller compared the tour final performancewhich took place in Vancouver on Sunday, December 8 for a “graduation” of sorts, before ending his post with a message to Swift.

“You command so much respect and admiration from anyone who is fortunate enough to add their efforts to yours. Your blend of focus, heart, perseverance and joy brings out the best in everyone around you,” he wrote. “Thank you for entrusting me with my part of your vision. It was the ride of a lifetime. I love you.”

Quick confirmed final Eras Tour show on June 13, when she called the experience “the most exhausting, all-consuming, but most joyful, rewarding, and amazing thing that has ever happened to me in my life.”

During the announcement, which took place during the tour’s 100th performance in Liverpool, England, she added that the tour had overtaken “everything” before thanking fans for their support.

“You’ve done so much to be with us, haven’t you?” Swift gushed at that moment. “You’ve planned so far ahead, you’ve planned what you’re going to wear, you’ve memorized the lyrics, you’ve gotten here, you’ve figured out the parking, you’ve figured out the transportation.”

She continued: “I want to spend the 100th performance just thinking about it and living in this moment with you and being here with you. Just know that I appreciate every effort you made to be with us… So thank you.”
