De la Hoya paints the fight of Ramírez de Haney as a mask for persistent fear after Garcia ‘Knockout’ “

Oscar de la Hoya promoter says Devin Haney wanted “Try the waters” Against José Ramírez before facing Ryan García in a rematch on May 2 because he was “knocked out” in his previous fight on April 20.

Although Technically Haney (31-0, 15 kos) lost to Ryan for a majority decision of 12 rounds, of Hoya sees it as a knockout.

Revenge avoidance

Haney could live to regret having taken the fight with Ramírez instead of going directly to the rematch with Ryan. Ramírez is still fighting near the level at which he was previously in his career, and his power is still there. While lost his last fight against Arnold Barboza Jr., the fight was a close decision of 10 rounds. De la Hoya says that Haney will discover for the bad that Ramírez is still “dangerous”, and this fight will be a disaster for him.

Haney is returning from that defeat against the former WBC WBC and WBC WBC and WBO Ramírez (29-2, 18 Kos) weight champion in the fatal event of Ryan Garcia vs. Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero at Turki Alalshikh’s fatal event on May 2 at Times Square in New York City. The event will be shown Live in Dazn PPV

One reason could be the way in which the referee Harvey stopped the action in the seventh round to penalize Garcia a point without prior notice to hit the rest. That was a rarity, and the referee did not take over his excessive possession. It seemed to some as the referee had saved Haney from a safe defeat.

Everything seemed very rare. You could say that without the referee stopping the action to penalize Garcia, Haney would have ended, who was standing after being left.

“Gelned”?

“Devin Haney does not want to return against Ryan García after being knocked out,” said Golden Boy Oscar de la Hoya promoter Dazn Boxing when asked why we are not seeing Ryan García vs. Devin Haney 2 May 2. “It is not in the book manual to promote fights or is not in the manual book of the fighter where after you do not dry, you fight with the same type again.

“You have to have an intermediate fight to recover your trust so that Devin makes sure that he is fine. What happens if (José) Ramírez opens it with a shot and staggered it and knocked out? That can happen, ”said De la Hoya.

“That would be a disaster,” said Ariel Helwani.

“I think Devin wanted to try the waters against Ramírez, thinking that Ramírez is not dangerous, but does he guess what? It’s dangerous, ”said a smiling of the Hoya.
