Shumer’s writing says: “The attempts to ‘cure’ the transgender people by forcing their gender identity to alignment with the sex of their birth are harmful and ineffective. These practices have been widely denounced as little ethical by all the main professional associations of the Medical Association and of Mental Health, such as the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics of Pediatrics, the American Association of Pediatric Psychiatric, and the mental association, among others, among others.
