Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz He seemed to fight Wednesday when asked who is the leader of his party now.
When talking about the joint speech of President Donald Trump before Congress, the presenter of CNN, Kasie Hunt, asked the former 2024 vice presidential candidate about the state of the Democratic Party.
“Who do you think is the leader of the Democratic Party at this time?” The host of “The Arena” asked.
“I think the voter public at this time is what he would say,” Walz replied with a small laugh. “And I keep telling him. We are not going to have a charismatic leader on a trip here and save us from this.”

He added: “I would say that the tea party, since it arose from the ACA, well, where was that charismatic leader? They were John Boehner and Mitch McConnell and a lot of people angry in the municipalities who had members of Congress as I answering questions.
“Then, when people look around, ‘Where are the leaders or whatever,’ they will take a step forward organically? And what I said, our work is, (like) people who have power to promulgate things, it is better that we do it, and we are better standing next to them. That is what we should do.”
This interview came later Walz hinted Mounting a 2028 presidential race at the New Yorker on Sunday.
“Well, I had a friend who told me: ‘I would never reject a job that you haven’t offered you,” Walz said when asked if he would apply for president.

“If I think I could offer something … I would certainly consider it,” he said. “However, I am also arrogant enough to believe that there are many people who can do this.”
He said that in the correct circumstances and if he has the “correct” skills set for the 2028 race, “I will.”
“Could you do it?” The New Yorker asked.
“I’ll do whatever necessary,” Walz said. “It certainly would not be arrogant enough to think that it needs to be me.”

Following the presidential elections of 2024, Democrats have fought to define the party and a way to face Trump and the Republican Party in 2026 and 2028. However, some leaders within the party have blamed “messages” for their losses.
“The policies we support and the message we have are not bad,” said DNC president Ken Martin, to New York Times in February. “It is a messaging problem and a brand problem. Those voters do not connect our policies with their lives.”
