Death comes eight days after a The boy in Texas died of the disease during a growing outbreak in the state that has infected almost 160 people.
The adult was not vaccinated and did not look for medical help before he died, although the cause of death is still under investigation.
The victim lived just through the state line from the West Region of Texas, where the outbreak is centered.
