Secretary of the United States Department of Defense (DOD) Pete Hegseth He said Sunday that his department “does not make climate change garbage,” but that he focuses on things like war and training.
The secretary was responding to a position by Haley Britzky of CNN, who shared a story about the Department of Defense and the cutting programs of the Government Efficiency Department (Doge) in the Pentagon who deal with climate change.
“The DOD and Doge have said that they plan to reduce climatic programs in the pentagon, but officials and experts warn that climate efforts in the DOD are directly linked to military preparation, and they say that the cuts could put troops and military operations at risk,” Britzky wrote.
According to the reports, CNN contacted the Pentagon with a list of questions about military preparation, Britzky added.

“… Spox John Ullyot Pentagon said ‘Climate Zealotry and other chimeras on the left are not part’ of the DOD mission,” Britzky published.
After seeing the publication, Hegseth intervened.
“John is, of course, correct,” wrote the Secretary of Defense. “The @Deptofdefense does not do so Climate change foolishness. We do training and fight against war. “
The DOD tells the civil workforce that I ignore Elon Musk’s request to inform productivity
Doge, who is being directed by billionaire Elon Musk, and The DOD They have been working together to reduce the waste spending, said DOD spokesman Sean Parnell, in a video posted on social networks last week.
He listed some of the initial findings marked by DEGE, which consisted of millions of dollars granted to support several programs of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), including $ 1.9 million for Dei’s holistic transformation and training in the Air Force and $ 6 million to the University of Montana to “strengthen US democracy through the bridge division.”
In addition, among the findings there were $ 1.6 million for the University of Florida to study the social and institutional detriment of vulnerability in resilience to climatic risks in Africa.

“This is not a central function of our military,” said Parnell. “This is not what we do. This is a distraction of our central mission.”
“We believe that these initial findings will probably save $ 80 million in wasteful expenses,” he added.
Hegseth said his agency would work with DEGE, who has carried out Treasury reviews, work departments, education and health, as well as the consumer financial protection office, the Office of Personnel Management and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
He added that many Dux workers are veteran, and it is “good” that they find deficiencies.

“They care as us, to find layoffs and identify the last vestiges of Biden’s priorities: Dei, awakening, climate change Bs, that is not essential for our mission, and we will get rid of everything,” Hegseth said.
