The country’s star detailed her miraculous recovery after “fell dead” twice, suffering a heart attack and a stroke, while it was on tour.

Vassar, 62, told Fox News Digital that he almost forgot how to play the piano until he received the musical instrument during his year in rehabilitation.

“It was definitely slow … learning to walk again and return … on the running tape,” said Vassar.

“They brought a piano in my room in Reab and I sat down and looked at him for a while … they said I started playing … He came back, and I was very, very happy that that happened.”

Vassar’s medical emergency occurred in 2023 during a Christmas tour with Deana Carter. The first to respond were surprised 11 times and “broke some ribs” in the process.

“The crew that save lives, these guys … what they do is simply incredible,” Vassar praised the medical team. “They could have given up … but they went ahead. They returned my life.”

Vassar had previously opened to the country’s taste about his health battle, saying: “I left dead. I was dead for 30 minutes a couple of times. Without heartbeat. Without beats at all.”

“I am exercising again. I pass more by bicycle and walk, enter the weight room a little,” he said. “But I really thought I was fit. I just didn’t feel good. I had a 3% body fat when I left dead.”

Vassar entered cardiac arrest after discovering that he had genetic heart disease.

In his intense path to recovery, Vassar was in rehabilitation for more than a year. He said that with a lot of exercise and hyperbaric camera treatments, he could “heal faster.”

Vassar is now preparing for his return tour, “25 years of Paradise”, celebrating the 25th anniversary of his successful song, “Just Another Day in Paradise”. The country’s star told Fox News Digital to plan “take advantage of every second” of life.
