On the 35th anniversary of the death of José and Kitty, NBC issued an eight-episode specialty in 2017 Law and Order: True Crime – The Menandez Murders. What were the original sentences of Erika and Lyle?
Lyle and Erik were arrested in 1990 for two first -degree murders. Three years later, the brothers were tested independently because they claimed that years of physical, emotional and sexual abuse caused them to shoot their mother and father.
The case ended up on the master after the jury was unable to make a unanimous decision. Restoration began in 1995, but most of the evidence surrounding abuse cannot be used as defense. How many attempts to dismiss?
The California Court of Appeal confirmed the Lyle and Erik’s convicted of the murder in 1998 and the Supreme Court in California refused to review the case later the same year.
