Gwyneth Paltrow it leaves 2024 in the past and moves into the new year.
Marry her Instagram on Sunday, December 29, the 52-year-old actress compiled a list of everything she “let go” over the course of the year.
“This year I left… the stage of life where everyone is always under one roof, our home, some very dear colleagues, the dog, Los Angeles,” Paltrow wrote, adding other posts that included that “some” of the people who for me they weren’t true, the idea that I can correct the misperceptions (and) beliefs that limit myself.”
While Paltrow admitted she’s “still working on” shedding such limiting beliefs, she also has a long list of goals for the coming year.
“In 2025, I’d like to index freedom and expansion, feel better, crush it at work,” the Goop founder noted. “(Also) being able to have challenging conversations, constantly rethinking everything, looking at things in new ways (and) surprising yourself.”
In the caption of her post, Paltrow noted that all of the above topics taught her “very powerful lessons.”
“I had a lot of goodbyes this year; I had some revelations that led to the end of things,” she said, citing her revelations as a result of a recent numerology reading. “The numerologist put it all into context for me, but this year was about learning to understand that it was a year of endings and that sometimes those endings were really painful and came with big changes and recalibrations.”
Paltrow concluded, “I’ve learned to loosen my grip on things and deeply learn to let go. And also to understand that everything always happens for your highest good, even when it’s super uncomfortable.”
Throughout 2024, Paltrow has navigated changing dynamics within her Goop business and her family. It was also the year she became an empty nester when son Moses, 18, left for Brown University to begin his college career. (Paltrow shares Moses and his older sister Apple with her ex-husband Chris Martin. Apple, 20, studies at Vanderbilt University.)
“It was a big transition. I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it was going to be hard because Apple and I are so close and we’ve been together all the time,” Paltrow said earlier My Weekly in October 2022. “But I had no idea. It was like the worst heartbreak I’ve ever (felt). I felt the love of my life broke up with me for weeks. It was terrible.”
The Oscar winner added at the time: “I’m getting more used to it now and it also helps to see her happy and in a good mood. That’s a huge difference. And she just came home for October break, so that was good. We’ll see her on Thanksgiving.”
Paltrow, who married Brad Falchuk in 2018, met both children last month Debutante ball in Paris when Apple debuted in the company. Then they celebrated Christmas and Hanukkah as a family earlier this week.
